On Monday, May 13, three experts will debate the future of our transportation options. Given the ever growing electric car (EV) fleet on our roads; massive government investments in battery plants; and the world-wide demand for the components to manufacture batteries, it is no surprise that the entire automotive industry is in flux.
Representing the current internal combustion engine (ICE) option will be Jim Kenzie, Canada's most widely read automotive journalist & commentator whose work has appeared in a variety of magazines, newspapers and web sites around the world.
Lining up on the EV side: David Kuhnke, Chapter Lead for the EV Society - Northumberland, has enlisted Daniel Breton, former Quebec Minister of the Environment, Sustainable Development, Wildlife and Parks and President & CEO of Electric Mobility Canada (EMC), to debate the pros & cons of EVs vs ICE vehicles.
The debate will take place at Theatre in The Wings, 30 Bridge Street east in downtown Belleville. Tickets are $15 available on Eventbrite or when doors open at 7pm. The debate gets under way at 7:30pm. A Q&A will follow the debate, moderated by retired auto magazine publisher, Malcolm Elston.
